Wine pairing for an Easter roast – Spring Lamb and Red Wine
A traditional Easter lunch often centres around roast lamb, accompanied by seasonal greens, roast potatoes, and perhaps a hint of mint. To match the richness and tenderness of lamb, a red wine with elegance and depth is essential.
Our top picks for lamb:
- 2018 Chorey-Les-Beaune, Domaine Maillard Père & Fils, Burgundy, France
A beautiful Burgundy with silky tannins and bright red berry notes. Its finesse makes it a wonderful partner to herb-crusted lamb. - 2020 Lympstone Manor Estate, ‘Triassic’, Devon, England
Powerful yet refined, our Lympstone Manor Estate ‘Triassic’ red wine is bold enough to meet roast lamb’s intensity while expressing a true sense of place. - 2021 Tenuta Guado al Tasso, ‘Il Bruciato’, Italy
This Super Tuscan brings ripe dark fruit, spice, and smooth tannins – a perfect pairing for rich Easter roasts.

Spring Wines for Easter Lunch – Fresh and Floral
Easter is also a time for lighter spring fare – think asparagus, grilled fish, pea risotto, or a spring salad. For these dishes, look for crisp, aromatic whites or lighter reds.
Our springtime wine recommendations:
- 2022 Grüner Veltliner Allram, ‘Strass’, Kamptal, Austria
Zesty, elegant, and vibrant – this Grüner Veltliner is ideal with seasonal greens, seafood, and spring starters. - 2022 Brouilly, Château de Vaux, ‘Creigne’, Beaujolais, France
A juicy, fruit-forward red that’s perfect slightly chilled – great with charcuterie, soft cheeses, or roast chicken. - 2022 Lympstone Manor Estate, ‘Isabeau’, Devon, England
Our elegant estate rosé, ‘Isabeau’, is beautifully expressive, with notes of citrus blossom, wild strawberry, and delicate orchard fruits. A gentle minerality and crisp finish make it a refreshing choice with spring vegetables, seafood, and white meats.
